A Stockholm tour guide through literature, art, and architecture.

My journey through Northern Europe began long before I moved to Stockholm.

Ever since 2007, whenever I had the chance to travel, my destination was always the North—drawn by its understated charm and by a lifestyle that is peaceful, relaxed, and at the same time rich in both natural and urban beauty.

In 2020, thanks to a scholarship, I had the privilege of living in Stockholm and deepening my understanding of its literature, art, history, and architecture.

The period that fascinates me most is the late 19th and early 20th century, an age of profound social and cultural transformation that gave rise to new artistic sensibilities. I love exploring the city in the spirit of the flâneur: the urban wanderer who immerses themselves in the city’s rhythms, notices its details, and becomes part of it.

Stockholm is the ideal setting for such a wandering gaze: a city in constant evolution, where entire districts—sometimes not without controversy—have been demolished to make way for modernity. Here, fin-de-siècle buildings stand alongside cutting-edge neighbourhoods, where some of the most innovative start-ups of our time were born. It is a city of contrasts and chiaroscuro, narrated by existentialist writers like August Strindberg, but also by the light and poetic touch of Astrid Lindgren, the creator of the beloved Pippi Longstocking. A regal and solemn capital, yet intimate and playful at the same time, stretched across islands connected by bridges that span the boundary between sea and lake.

Every street, every square, every building is a keeper of memories, a witness to eras that continue to converse with the present. This complexity is what fascinates me most about Stockholm.

Guiding those who visit the city means sharing its soul in a spontaneous way, without rigid routes or textbook explanations. Not a lesson, but a stroll through architectural and literary details—across the city’s most iconic places and, above all, its lesser-known corners, which reveal Stockholm as it truly is.

If you’d like to discover it with me, I’ll be happy to walk by your side.
