Consolidation of an empire
During our guided tour at The Vasa Museum, your emotions will set in immedietly. Being faced with an original intact war vessel from the 1600s in all its majesty makes this visit not an everyday occurance. It´s not all museums that are able to offer, with out exaggerating, their visitors this kind of a ones in a lifetime experience.
The Vasa ship was constructed during a real leap in time, when Sweden was preparing to consolidate it´s empire. An apogee that will hardly be repeated.
The questions that will be highlighted during our guided tour at The Vasa Mueum are: Why does this war ship even exist? Why did the king back then, Gustav II Adolf, want to build it at all costs? Whats the meaning abundant of its symbolism and the origin of its name? And maybe the most intriguing question of all, what did really happen on the fateful day of August 10th, 1628? Together we will find the answers of these and many other questions during our guided tour of The Vasa Museum.
For smaller groups, our guided tour will be divided to all the museum floors, where you amongst other things find numerous artifacts found on the ship, as well as precise reconstructions of the interior. For larger groups the guided tour will instead take place on the ground floor. All the useful information for visiting the entire museum will be given, regardless of which tour you choose.
