the queen of MÄLAREN
stockholm in a nutshell
Our combined tour, “The Queen of Mälaren” is an itinerary of about 3 hours. The tour includes a guided walk in the historic center of Stockholm, meaning The Old Town, also known as Gamla Stan, and a guided tour inside The City Hall. The City hall which is by far the most symbolic building in the city. It’s the seat of power for political administration and also serves as the stage of The Nobel Banquet.
This is the ideal tour for those who first want to get carried away by the charming cobbled alleys of Gamla Stan and the islet of Riddarholmen, where we will admire the grandeur of one of the architetctural masterpieces up close. A perfect example of Swedish eclectic architectural style dating back to the early twentieth century.
The City Hall carries references of innumerable architectural styles which testify to the endless amounts of symbols expressed in the exterior and interior of this iconic building. Symbols of which we will tell you more about while walking through all areas open to the general public. During our guided tour we will walk through The Blue Hall and The Golden Hall the main stages where the Nobel Banquet is held.
